[1-2] The doors, placed in the representative entrance area of the Forum, act as a connection between the 'outer' and the 'inner'. Because of their opening or closing they are a link, symbolic and real, between the outside and the inside. The doors also symbolise the various phases in life, they have a relationship to human scale (the first doorway is the size of a normal entrance door – 1 by 2 meters).
The interaction of light and shadow caused by the time of day and position of the sun, their shape, the position from which they are viewed all contribute to create a multifaceted experience.
