Montessori Kindergarten Landshut

[1-2] The work was conceived for the kindergarten both in it´s content and also aesthetically. It consists of two 2 cm thick steel plates, one sprinkled with blue paint, the other left untreated and a iron band, also untreated, which runs across the area. The band runs through the imaginary middle point towards the curved main building. The visitor crosses, as he enters the building, this band and also passes between the object and the building.

It´s positioning on the middle point joins the artistic concept with the Montessori idea of "the polarisation of attention".

Doors are always "entrances", in this case not an actual one, but a symbolic one which portrays both the development of a child's personality and it becoming an individual.
