Überschreitung
Crossing/Transgression

[9-10] The, through Pachtners ethereally blue illuminated, church of Hans von Burghausen is closely linked with the Gothic church of St. Martins. Together with Castle Trausnitz they have become the architectural trade mark of Landshut. It demonstrates a powerful brick architecture with sculptural quality and with its floor stands for openness, which is probably also the case in the clocks and bells. From the town plain its gigantic one hundred and thirty meter high tower acts as a counter weight to the castle which stands on the hill above the town.

During the exhibition the west entrance to St. Martins was made even more noticeable by a second blue light source. For the evening viewer the neon light is not just indirect, as internal lighting as in the Holy Ghost, but external through a stele positioned on the centre axis in the entrance hall. The west entrance as an open picture gallery showing religious scenes and ones from local history, scenes through which being bathed in blue light for the duration of the exhibition, were all the more noticeable.
